Poedjiati Tan was born in Surabaya-Indonesia, graduated as Master of Social Psychology from Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya, Faculty of Psychology. She was an Indonesia national “Tae Kwon Do” athlete and during her spare time she is working as psychological consultant at Bina Grahita Mandiri. She was also became as a Tae Kwon Do coach for teenagers and children.

As a coach Poedjiati also played role as a counselor for her student an help them to be able to cope their problems. She has a big concern with homosexual issue and actively give counseling to lesbian teenager in her home town. Sometimes she becomes as a keynote speaker in lesbian topic area.

She also a Secretary General of GAYa Nusantara (LGBTIQ NGO) and Female Representative ILGA Asia (2008 – 2010).
